The real cost
What the European market charges — 2026
Nobody gives you a straight answer on this. Stand costs vary wildly — by country, by show, by how much you brief in advance. Here are the numbers actually used in the market:
These shift depending on venue rules, show length, and what you add on. AV alone can push a mid-range stand up 30%. The thing most exhibitors miss: the stand is not the cost. The cost of not being seen is.

What moves the price
Configuration factors
Design complexity drives cost more than anything else. A well-placed 20m² stand often outperforms a badly briefed 60m² one. Scale is not strategy.
Design complexity
LED integration, custom joinery, touch screens — each one adds. A multi-material build with embedded lighting can cost 3x a panel stand of the same size.
Materials & finishes
Every material decision has a number attached. Reusable structures make sense if you exhibit more than once a year.
Venue & country
Frankfurt, Paris, Barcelona: higher labour costs, stricter venue rules. A stand that costs €8k in Rimini can cost €12k at Messe Frankfurt.
Timeline
Brief your partner less than 8 weeks out and you are looking at a 15–25% surcharge. The production calendar fills fast around major shows.
Logistics & shipping
For US or LATAM brands: freight and customs add 10–20% on top of build cost. ATA Carnet is mandatory. Most exhibitors do not know this until it is too late.
Turnkey vs. self-managed
Splitting design, production, transport and build between separate vendors looks cheaper on paper. It is not. Coordination failures at a trade show are expensive.
Transparency matters
Ask for a detailed quote — always
A real partner sends you a proposal before you commit — concept images, materials spec, production timeline, logistics breakdown. If they just quote a number per sqm, that is not a partner.
"The sqm price tells you almost nothing. Ask what is included. Ask who manages the build on-site. Ask what happens if your freight is delayed."

Brief early. The earlier you commit, the more options you have. Waiting costs money. At most major shows, less than 8 weeks out adds 20–30% to the final bill.

Final thought
Do not buy a stand — build an experience
A stand is three days of your company made physical. People walk past hundreds of booths. They stop at maybe a handful. The question is not how much it costs — it is whether it is worth stopping for.
